It was my pleasure to sing for the Caltech Trustees at their 2007 annual meeting.
This performance was part of a showcase of Caltech's music program. This small group features Matt Whited on piano, Mike Ferrara on drums, Kevin Chen on bass, and Lauren Chu on saxophone.

Let's Fall in Love / Let's Do It
I was invited to be a guest soloist with the Pomona Concert Band for one of their
performances in their Summer 2007 Concert Series. Here are some more Gershwin
classics:
'S Wonderful
But Not For Me
Here's an old favorite of mine, recorded at Caltech's 2007 Bandorama:
"Please Send Me Someone To Love." The Caltech Monday Jazz Band really
cuts loose! Be sure to check out the big finish -- I've been
working on my wailing.

Me Someone To Love
It was an honor to sing with the Caltech Concert band again at their 2007
winter concert.
I had the chance to try out a more classical sound on
"Ave Maria Paien" from Notre Dame de Paris, then we closed the
first
half of the concert with a swinging rendition of "They Can't Take That Away
From Me."

The Caltech Jazz Bands really enjoyed the chance to perform at the Jazz Bakery in February
of 2007. Here are a couple of tunes from that show:
My Funny Valentine
Fever
At the Jazz Bands' January 2007 concert, we put a Latin and swing twist
on an old favorite.
My Funny Valentine
This is a recording of the Caltech Women's
Glee Club performing a fun gospel number at the Glee Clubs' 2006 Holiday Concert. You might be
able to pick me out singing a little solo here and there -- that's Sharlotte Kramer singing on the
even numbers; I'm singing on the odd ones.
Go Where I Send Thee
This is a recording of the "Grad School Edition" of the Caltech Blues,
performed by the Caltech Monday Jazz Band at Caltech's Bandorama in May, 2006. It
was my pleasure to sing this just a few days after finishing my Ph.D.
The Caltech Blues (Grad
School Edition)
At the April 2006
Caltech Jazz Festival, it was a huge honor to sing "Caravan," accompanied by
the inimitable Bill Watrous on trombone, and the fantastic Monday Jazz Band.

In January 2006, the Caltech Jazz bands paid tribute to the two great
cities of New Orleans and Los Angeles. It was my privilege to
sing the classic "St. James Infirmary Blues."
St. James Infirmary Blues
2005's Bandorama at Caltech gave me the opportunity to sing one of my favorite bluesy ballads, "Cry Me A River" -- I love that I get to rhyme "plebian" with "with me and!"
Cry Me A River
Our January 2005 Jazz Concert was a blast! It was a particular joy to
meet our fabulous
guest artist, drummer Gregg Bissonette (who gave me a wonderful
compliment when he called me a "funky soul-singing sister"), and an even
bigger thrill to sing one of my favorite songs: "At Last."
At Last
I had a blast
singing with the Caltech Concert Band at their November 2004 concert!
There's nothing in the world liking singing with a large wind ensemble.
I think if I had leaned back a little, the wall of sound would have held
me up!
Stardust
At Caltech's
Bandorama Concert in May 2002, I was privileged to sing a big band
arrangement of one of my favorite songs, Billy Strayhorn's "Lush Life".
The Thursday Jazz Band played it beautifully!

Here's a
selection from the January 2002 Caltech Jazz Concert!

This recording, from Caltech's 2001 Bandorama, features our loyal audience!
All Right, OK, You Win
This is a
recording of "Georgia On My Mind" from the January 2001 Caltech Jazz Concert.
I know, it sounds like I'm singing from the next zip code, but it just goes to show you should come to the concert and hear it in
person next time! Turn up the speakers, ignore the hiss, and enjoy.

Here's a new twist on "Some of
My Best Friends Are the Blues" -- "The Caltech Blues,"
recorded at the January 2000 Caltech Jazz concert.
The Caltech Blues (live)
This was recorded at the Caltech Bandorama
in May 1999 with the Caltech Thursday Band. I strayed somewhat
from the Screamin' Jay Hawkins interpretation....

At the January 2004 Caltech Jazz concert, I sang the great Monk tune,
"'Round Midnight" -- as always it was a treat to sing with the Caltech
Jazz Band!

The Caltech Jazz Bands were in the studio again in 2007; here's a preview of my
tune on their new CD:
Please Send Me Someone to Love
On March 14, 2004, the Caltech Jazz Bands had the incredible opportunity to record at Capitol
Records in Hollywood. Here are two tunes from that session.

This studio version of "The Caltech Blues" is the first track from the Caltech Bands CD "Crowd Pleasers," recorded in 2000.

As requested, here's another track from 2000's "Crowd
Pleasers," "God Bless the Child."

Here's an MP3 of me singing Peggy Lee's classic "Fever" with
Caltech's Swing Band at our studio session in May 1999.
